Grapat was founded in Spain after its creators noticed how naturally their young child turned everyday objects into tools for imaginative play. Inspired by this creativity, the family left city life for the countryside, where they began crafting simple wooden pieces in Jordi’s family home. What started as a small workshop in an old barn and hand-staining pieces in the kitchen—soon grew into a beloved toy company.
The name Grapat means “a handful” in Catalan, reflecting the heart of the brand: offering small collections of beautifully crafted loose parts that invite children to explore, imagine, and play freely.
