Derek Mckay Duncan ( the "DMD" in DMD Metal ) grew up in the midwest, the son of a printmaker and metalsmith. Through the years, his creativity and design sense became a unique reflection of his parents creative practices. After moving to San Francisco in the early 2000’s, he received training at the esteemed Revere Academy. Soon after, he was immersed in the jewelry trade, working for well known jewelers and designers in the Bay Area. The foundation for his work comes from over a decade of experience in manufacturing, antique restoration, repair and custom work. DMD Metal currently resides in Raleigh, NC and works out of a private studio.
