Originally from Vancouver, Michele Quan moved to New York City to study graphic design and photography at Parsons School of Design. Twelve years before embarking on her current medium of clay, she co-founded the NYC jewelry company Me&Ro. Her work seeks to unite visual form with our individual and universal experience of the world around us. Through MQuan Studio, she designs and sculpts handmade ceramic art and homeware. Forms are built by hand, wheel thrown, or slip cast in stoneware and porcelain; all images are hand painted or hand drawn. She works out of her studio in Brooklyn and lives in New York with her husband, daughter, and dog, Sparrow.
