Red-Tailed Hawk Feather Print

Among the largest hawks in North America, the red-tailed hawks are built to soar. Their flying speed is 20-40 m.p.h and they can reach up to 120 m.p.h. when diving. Their incredible eyesight (8 times better than humans!) the can see spot small prey from 100 feet in the air. Their diet includes small mammals, birds, reptiles, fish and insects. During the Middle Ages, artists suggested nobility or high social class by depicting a hawk on the arm of a man on horseback. Red-tailed hawks mate for life.

Nepalese handmade paper beautifully complements the detailed photographic feathers individually printed by photographers Dennis + Roy Barloga in their Northern California studio.
